ABL communities and their challenges: What are their solutions?
From November 15 to November 16, 2022, was held a two-day conference in Gori, Georgia, which was organized by MESA 10 in cooperation with Strategic Analysis Think Tank and Bridge of Friendship Kartlosi. During the two-day Conference on ABL communities, the local administration and regional development self-government and local administration representatives, small businesses owners, NGOs/CSOs representatives, and representatives of the Georgian decision-making sphere, discussed the findings of the initial field research that was conducted during the first part of the project.
Study: Communities on the Administrative Boundary Line: Challenges and Opportunities
This extensive report aims to present the key findings from the field research targeting communities living on the administrative boundary line in Georgia, separating the de facto South Ossetia/Tskhinvali region from the rest of Georgia. What are the primary issues that local populations along the ABL face today?
Current Defense and Security Challenges in the Western Balkans
On November 10, 2022, Strategic Analysis Think Tank organized a small closed discussion, entitled “Current Defence and Security Challenges in the Western Balkans”. The speakers of the discussion were Mr. Martin Sklenár, Director General of the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, and Mr. Faruk Geci, Director for Defence Policy of the Ministry of Defence, Kosovo. The aim of the discussion was to jointly communicate the threats and challenges currently facing the Western Balkans region, including the war in Ukraine and the tense relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
